Jim Haines is the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of American HealthCare, LLC. Jim received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Washington & Lee University and a Juris Doctor degree from Western New England University School of Law. Jim is Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified in HealthCare Privacy Compliance (CHPC), Certified in Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC), a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), and a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional – International (CCEP-I). Jim is licensed to practice law in Virginia and Connecticut and is a member of the American Bar Association, the Virginia Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association, the American Health Lawyers Association and the Health Care Compliance Association.

Jim is past President of the Board of Directors of Roanoke Area Ministries, Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the University of Science and Philosophy, and past President of the Board of Directors of the FREE Foundation. Jim worked for the Travelers Insurance Company in the Managed Care and Employee Benefits Operations Department in Richmond, Virginia; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and Hartford, Connecticut prior to moving to American HealthCare in 1992.
