Who is my legislator?

Let your elected officials know how you feel about the pending legislation and issues that impact seniors. It is important to know who your legislators are and how to contact them. Using this link, scroll to the bottom of the list to see Virginia General Assembly’s “Who’s My Legislator?” tool. This tool will show your two senators and your congressman at the federal level.

 
Virginia Health Care Association (VHCA)

Use this resource to get more information about VHCA as well as several assisted living and nursing facilities.

American Health Care Association (AHCA)

The AHCA is a non-profit federation of affiliated state health organizations. They represent nearly 12,000 non-profit and for-profit assisted living and nursing facilities and healthcare providers offering sub-acute care and care for the developmentally disabled. These providers care for more than 1.5 million elderly and disabled individuals nationally.

Alzheimer's Association 

The largest national voluntary health organization dedicated to advancing Alzheimer's research and helping those affected by the disease.

Parkinson's Disease Foundation, Inc. (PDF) 

A national non-profit organization devoted to education, advocacy, and the funding of research. PDF brings hope to as many as one million Americans who now suffer from this debilitating condition

American Diabetes Association

The nation's leading nonprofit health organization providing diabetes research, information and advocacy.

American Heart Association 

Their mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke by providing resources and education regarding heart diseases and other heart-related problems. 

American Stroke Association 

Their mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke by providing resources and education to help you prevent strokes or treat them if they’ve occurred.

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)  
A Federal agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. They are responsible for Medicaid, State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), HIPAA, and CLIA.

Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) 

DMAS strives to ensure that program integrity is maintained in the array of preventive, acute and long-term care services it provides. They also help detect and eliminate fraud, abuse and waste.
